The past three days have been overcast and horribly muggy, with record breaking temperatures in the 90s! Instead of bringing relief, late day rains have ushered in overnight sogginess…..enough apparently, for this to happen:
I’ve occasionally seen bright yellow mushrooms among my irrigated St. Augustinegrass, but never did I expect “sprouts” in a container receiving no irrigation OR hand watering! What’s even more surprising is this
I inspect my plants daily (am I a wierdo?
) and yesterday there was no hint of mushrooms!
Needless to say, I checked the other potted bromeliads and though I didn’t see any strange fungi
a flower spike was forming in one of the front containers and definately worth showing you:
