This week’s photo challenge calls for saturation of color. Not a problem! When tropical gardens reach peak bloom, deeply saturated jewel tones are everywhere!
First up, a Ruby Spider Daylily and Aloe Ciliaris from May, 2013..
Followed by reseeded sunflowers from 2011-12 amidst a newly sown packet of Burpee’s Autumn Beauty seeds. This is some seriously saturated orange!
Check out the electric pinks and greens in this caladium container! (June, 2013)
Not even rain can diminish the bold purple/orange marbling in this unusual gladiolus from July, 2012. (Saturated color saturation? ha! 🙂 )
Sadly, this beautiful flower didn’t grow back in 2013, but it sure looked pretty next to the Dragon Tree aka Dracena Marginata Tricolor,
That’s it for today, but stay tuned: I’ve got some great bromeliad pics to share in Saturated Part 2.
Until next time…..
🙂 🙂 🙂

Well done, certainly you met this weeks challenge. Your photos are really beautiful.
What an unique flower. That’s a great challenge.
Thanks Coco! I still can’t get over the pics YOU took of 5 million spider lilies! I hope everyone who reads this clicks that link to your post!
Thank you for the link. Glad to hear that Have a nice day 🙂
Beautiful colors.
Thank you!
Beautiful flowers!
What a garden and great pictures. You triggered beautiful thoughts of my Mom. She loved all things orange (except the fruit) the Caladium looks similar to Anthuriums (her fav in any color except red – to common for her) and finally, her wedding bouquet was made up of gladiolas. I like visiting your blog and taking a virtual walk in your garden. Thank you. 🙂
Hello!
Your comment really touched me. Thank you. 🙂
I especially smiled at the mention of your mother disliking anything “too common.” I totally relate!
GREAT PHOTOS!
Thanks! Nature makes it easy! 🙂
The gladioli and dracaena together was inspired planting!
I wish I could take credit for it, but I think it was the previous owner who planted the dracaena….the gladiolus is a bit of a mystery. The first (and only) time it bloomed was last year! I’ve been here since 2009 and def didn’t plant it!
These are really beautiful pictures 🙂
Thank you! your Rangoli Art was beautiful too!
Beautiful photos. Your garden is simply marvellous!
Thank you! 🙂
Lovely colors! We’re heading into the autumn palette now. I’m not sure how good a show we’ll get, but I’m sure at least a few trees will show some “saturated color.” 😉
Oh yes! those oranges and yellows are so dang brilliant! I can see why people take vacations just to view foliage!
Beautiful. I looked at this at the start of my Monday morning. It’s been a rainy, blustery, chilly weekend and your photos brightened my spirit. Thanks.
sunflowers are just the BEST !
