Maggie was in Boston last weekend, and I thought you might enjoy her photos as much as I did. 🙂 The foliage near Back Bay/Prudential was well past peak, but still quite pretty!

Beautiful Back Bay, Boston, November 2014
When the sun is shining, Boston is quite beautiful!

Magnificent colours
A few weeks ago the trees were more vibrant, I’m sure, but I love seeing pics of my old home before the winter grey sets. It will soon get very dismal and stay like that until April. Very different than where we live now!
I wonder if others notice the lovely autumn colours…
The year I moved away (2009) was one of the most spectacular fall foliage seasons I’d witnessed in a very long time! I thought it a nice farewell, and remember it often! A few weeks ago there would have been brighter colors and mucho more “orange” to show you, but these pics give a good idea of what it’s like overall. Kind of like England, yes?
Beautiful! Leaves still on the trees, too…we have lost all of ours. Thanks, Karen!
I think they will be gone in a week! I hear there’s some dastardly wind and cold headed across the upper part of the country so…..
OH, to have autumn colours like that. It would make me itchy to get out my paintbrush and create some earthy art!!
Massachusetts in Autumn is a spectacular place with crisp air and real beauty. There are a few weeks like that in May, too, right after the tulips bloom when everything goes into bud (seemingly) overnight.
Unfortunately the winters are very long and very grey/cold/snowy. Kind of a tough place to live overall but it imparts a certain hardiness, hustle, and fatalism to everyone who lives there. Those three qualities used in a sentence sound something like this: “We’ll be dead soon, but let’s do the best we can right up to the bitter end!” 🙂 I miss being around that attitude…and the tulips, of course. 🙂
Of course, now I can imagine what it would be like. That sentence speaks volumes. I guess that attitude has carried them through.
